Jenny Kalmbach shines at The Carolina Cup
Naish’s Jenny Kalmbach participated in the 3rd annual Carolina Cup race this past weekend and paddled her way to the podium, earning 2nd place in one of the largest and most respected SUP events of the year. Over 449 racers competed and over 40 states and an estimated 5 nations were represented.
“The Graveyard” Elite Race covered 12.5 miles of both ocean and flat water. Half the race is in the ocean off Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina, while the other half crosses Mason’s Inlet, a spot that was rumored to be built by the Templars while hiding the Holy Grail.
Gnarly looking tides combined with some moderate winds brought tactics and ocean knowledge into play. This certainly wasn’t a flat water race…even if Jenny made it look easy!
Congratulations! Way to represent!
