Langerees Dominate the Cape Hatteras Wave Classic
September 20-26, 2014 – Dynamic brother and sister duo Kevin Langeree and Jalou Langeree claim first in their divisions at the first annual 2014 Cape Hatteras Wave Classic in North Carolina, hosted by REAL Watersports, Inc.
Held on the Outer Banks, the location boasts wind and wave conditions ideal for dredging barrels and epic surf at this wave-based event. Based 50% on waveriding, 25% on tricks and 25% on overall impression, the new competition format challenged riders to adapt their riding strategy while consistently pushing each other’s skills to the next level.
With his 2015 Pivot kite and Global board, Kevin went head to head with Reider Decker, pulling ahead with higher wave scores and landing a final score of 30.5.
Sister Jalou Langeree showed off her skills on her 2015 Alana kite and Alana wave board—leading in waves, tricks and overall impression—earning her a 26.8.
Special shout out to Naish Team Rider Davey Blair who pulled the biggest barrel of the event, injuring his shoulder on media day and a hearty congratulations to Kevin and Jalou for their stellar performance!
