Kai Lenny and Casper Steinfath victorious at the Aragas Magallanes Paddle Challenge
The Javeline 12’6” LE keeps collecting trophies when driven by Naish’s top riders Kai Lenny and Casper Steinfath!
The Aragas Magallanes Paddle Challenge played host this weekend to a fiercely competitive race between some of the world’s best paddlers on Lake Grey, in the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile.
On Day 1, the 13-mile long distance course provided plenty of opportunity for Kai Lenny and Casper Steinfath to battle alongside the other athletes. With conditions ranging from floating icebergs and freezing winds, Kai out-paddled his competitors and broke free from the pack, securing a solid 1st place. Meanwhile Casper, the Danish Viking, seemed at home in these conditions and was able to finish in a very worthy 3rd place.
The sprint racing component on Day 2 proved to be quite the event as Kai scored 2nd place after battling it out stroke for stroke with fellow Mauian, Connor Baxter. Steinfath also clutched 3rd place with his stellar performance.
With Kai and Connor earning equal points throughout Stop one of the Stand Up World Series, a tiebreaker soon followed and Kai settled for 2nd overall for the event itself after a severely close and dramatic battle to the finish line. Casper also earned 3rd place, proving that he too, is a force to be reckoned with in 2013.
Naish’s Arnaud Frennet also placed 6th in the Long Distance Race.
Big ups to Kai Lenny and Casper Steinfath! A job well done this weekend!
