October 10-12, 2014, Turtle Bay, Oahu – #TeamNaish Rider Kai Lenny hurtles into victory—taking 1st in the Long Distance and 2nd in the Sprint—along with his teammates at the #StandUpWorldSeries Finals in Turtle Bay, presented by #Naish
During the Men’s Long Distance, an incoming northwest swell lead to heavy surf—with waves breaking at up to 20 feet a mile off-shore—as paddlers smashed through oncoming sets at the starting line, battling to make it out past Kawela Bay. True waterman skills were tested as they headed south towards the finish at Halewia in this 13-mile course that routed them parallel to some of the best surf breaks in the world.
Amidst the pandemonium, Kai Lenny demonstrated his dominance by plowing ahead of the throngs of skilled athletes on his 2015 #NaishJavelin 12’6″ LE. Stepping up as another major contender was #TeamNaish Rider Riggs Napoleon—Oahu local boy and one of the youngest male competitors on the tour—taking 2nd place in an event that proved the perfect test of talent and ability for world-class paddlers.
Powerful currents and overhead surf prepped athletes in the Men’s Sprint for an action-packed race. Crammed with carnage, the event kept onlookers on the edge of their seats while Kai secured the number two spot and competitors rubbed rails through to the finish line.
