Naish’s Kai Lenny Takes Silver At Camp David World Cup of SUP
July 19-20, 2014 – Naish’s Kai Lenny took silver at this weekend’s Camp David World Cup of SUP event in Fehmarn, Germany after battling it out on sea and by land with his competitors.
On Day 1, Kai held steady during the strong winds and made his move in the closing seconds of the sprint race. While edging out the competition in the closing seconds of the race, Kai took a very memorable 1st for the day as he set his focus on the upcoming distance race scheduled for Day 2.
On Day 2’s distance event, Kai started off strong however not strong enough to make the podium, settling for 4th, just shy of the podium. However, with his win in the sprints, Kai takes a notable silver for the event, still a very worthy result for this World Champion.
After Stop #3, Kai remains in 2nd place in the Overall World Ratings, still well within striking distance of the top spot.
Big ups also go to Naish Holland’s Carla Shellart for placing a phenomenal 3rd Overall, and Germany’s Noelani Sach for her 5th Overall finish for the Women. Congrats also go out to Danish Viking Casper Steinfath who took 5th Overall for the Men. Casper currently ranks 5th in the Overall World Ratings, 2nd in the European Cup Ratings and holds the lead for the European Champion; so rest-assured, there’s still much more to come from this talented rider as the season progresses!
